The origins of the Single Parents Organization.

Single Parents Organization is a non-governmental and non-profit organization. This organization does various activities in collaboration with government agencies to reach its beneficiaries.

This organization was established in March of the year 2022 but started its activities properly in July of the same year of 2022.

Single Parents Organization works to help single parents, whether it’s a man or a woman who is not living with their partner for various reasons but living with children/child.

Among the things they help with are paying school fees for the children of the beneficiaries, paying for medical insurance and allocating food and household items to them and raising animals to help them see their progress.

This organization has already paid for more than 300 people for health insurance known as Mutuelle de Sante.

The idea of ​​establishing this organization was brought by Icitegeste Yvonne who is now the head of the Single Parents Organization. She came up with this idea based on how people who do not live with their co-parents or separated from their spouses and how they live a difficult life because they are very broke raising children and they are struggling with many things in life.

When she got this idea she passed it on to some of her friends and some of them decided to join her journey and they established “Single Parents Organization.”

In the beginning, the Single Parents Organization first helped the majority of women in this organization’s program, including helping everyone, including men, because they also often face problems when they do not live with their co-parents.

“We have a long-term plan to help men too because they often face problems when they are no longer living with their spouses, because sometimes it happens that the man is the one who is left with the responsibility of taking care of the children alone. children and the man is the one who faces the problems of continuing to take care of the children, it is something that is difficult for men and then you find that they are also helpless, so we have that program even though the number of men we see is less compared to women” – Icitegetse Yvonne (President of Single parents)

Beneficiaries of the Single Parents Organization are very happy with the help they receive from this organization, saying that they are satisfied with the organization’s activities and some of them are starting to have hope for a better future.

In order for the Single Parents Organization to find people to help, the help of the sector’s management would have gone to another management and that would be the one that selects the people for this project to help those who have the most difficult problems.

Currently, this project has started its activities in the Kamonyi district in the Southern province of Rwanda, the only plan is to reach the whole country and other countries because that is the goal of this organization.
